Hi

I am a VB.net developer and want to develop Android apps using Java and Eclipse.
I clearly need to study various coding languages like xml and Java. I just need a
little advice on where to start and what to learn

Have you done the starter app?
http://developer.android.com/training/basics/firstapp/index.html

After that I'd suggest if you really want to learn Android in depth I'd suggest enrolling in a free course like this:
https://www.coursera.org/course/android

which will walk you through the whole process and give you a solid basis.  You don't have to do the assignments unless you choose to - just watching the lectures and having a place to ask questions is a great opportunity to really learn a new skill.
