In order to implement failover strategy using TAF ..not enough resources  backup oracle instance is up running parallel in oracle..which method of failover mode will be used..

preconnect,manual,auto,basic,none  etc...

Basic.
In the TAF configuration, 2 paragraphs will be there. 1st paragraph refers to 1st DB and 2nd refers to 2nd DB. Connections will be redirected to 1st and 2nd DB. And if any of the db is down, then connection goes to the db node which is working fine.
