I am successful able to add shared folders but not able to execute the job successfully,

Some logs are enclosed here with,

Note:sometimes the job complied successfully & some time not...seems devices is not acting as stable as it should.

Any workaround will be great help to me....

Awaiting for your experts to advice asap....

Backing up CIFS shares this way is NOT supported. It is possible to make it work more or less, but can you ever be sure that all your data is safe?

Here's a link on how some people get it to work:

Proceed at own risk and do regular restore tests to make sure all data is restorable.

Well, you're trying to do something that is not supported and the work arounds don't work...

Why is NDMP not an option for you? It is the protocol that was specifically designed for this purpose and the only reliable way to backup a Netapp using 3rd party software.

Okay...does this is the last option available for backingup CIFS from NetApp?

If so...are you sure..i will not face the same issue using NDMP license?

pls advice...& share you experiences...

NDMP should work fine, but make sure you run the latest patches of Symantec software and Netapp Ontap.

Should you run into any issues, you will be able to get support from both Netapp and Symantec, as this is a certified solution by both manufacturers.
