Hi.

I have just upgraded my ESXi 5.1 standalone to ESXi 5.5 with help from this link:

http://www.v-front.de/2013/09/how-to-update-your-standalone-host-to.html

Now I cant access the ESXi on the HTTPS site and though the VSphere Client.

I can still connect to SSH and see the datastores.

What do i do?

Thanks.

So you cannot connect via vSphere Client?

Did you try restarting the server?

Can you connect via Port 80 and 443?

e.g. telnet <ip addres> 80 or telnet <ip addres> 443

Yes I can connect to it with telnet on 80 and 443.

Okay, but what about my virtual machines on the server?

When you re-install, the installer will detect the existing VMFS partition, where the current VMs are located, and Ask, Do you wish to prese4rve the existing VMFS partition, which you should state - yes!

then after connecting to the ESXi server, browse the datastore, Right Click the Virtual Machine VMX File, and select Register with Inventory.

Done, Power on VM!
