SQL Server Name Change Incomplete

We renamed our computer that has SQL Server 2005 from HQVSDB02 to SQLSERVER.

Everything seemed to work fine. This SQL is a workgroup Edition. We retired another SQL server that had 2005 SQL standard edition. So i started doing an upgrade from command prompt using SKUUPGRADE=1. It did got an error near the very end. It seems it errors out when I try to upgrade the books and tools section. Everything else is installed fine is seems.

I didn't realize i had to run the query below after changing the server name:
EXEC sp_dropserver '<old_name>'
GO
EXEC sp_addserver '<new_name>', 'local'
GO

So I did it after i completed the upgrade. It worked. However I cannot install service packs. I keep getting authentication error. I put in the correct sa password or windows auth - but the report server errors out. If you look the reports server component still has old SERVER name on it. See all attached PDF Photos.

I'm on 2003 Server Enterprise Edition. How can i fix this?

Sort of but not. I posted similar information but last question needs more than one solution. So I split what I could. i will close the first one as soon as one of the main problems is solved.

Rather than split points with multiple answers I feel guru's should get more points for their contribution. I hope that is ok.

I found answer online. Also the question is sort of similar to another question I asked so it should be closed.
