I am not entirely certain, but generally, the Server Manager is backward compatible but not forward compatible. <br />
<br />
So then, so long as you have the install files for both server managers, try the newer one on the server. I think QB Enterprise V14 may not work well with the older server manager and that may be why you are having connection problems.<br />

Make sure also you are using mapped drives and not browsing for the QB Company file. <br />
