FTP from Linux to windows server?

Hello Expert,

I have a question,

I have automated daily backups for my nagios server (linux), and the backups are redirected to a folder (/ var / backup).

I want to find a way to configure an automatic ftp download script on my ftp server (windows server), to be able  to transfert daily all the backups from my nagios server .

How can I do it? Is it possible

You can actually set your nagios server to FTP to the windows server as part of the backup script. Here is a simple example, but the the web is full of plenty others some even simpler and other more complicated.

#!/bin/sh
HOST='ftp.users.qwest.net'
USER='yourid'
PASSWD='yourpw'
FILE='file.txt'

ftp -n $HOST <<END_SCRIPT
quote USER $USER
quote PASS $PASSWD
put $FILE
quit
END_SCRIPT
exit 0
