SharePoint 2013 - Code to invoke Sync functionality

Hello.  I'm looking for a slice of JavaScript code that I can embed into a link that will invoke the standard SharePoint Sync functionality (that launches the Sky Drive Pro client).  The exact same thing that the 'Sync' button does on the top-right of the default SP ribbon.

Why do I want to invoke this command via code when the Sync button appears at the top of every page?  Because we modified the SP ribbon to NOT show this (and otherSP default) buttons, to keep end users from using them.  However, there are a handful of pages we want to create, essentially, a custom "Sync" button/link for.

Most SharePoint ribbon commands can be invoked via JavaScript that calls a SP-specific function.

Can anyone provide the code?

Thanks!
