Simple question .... last year I want on the server and edited a item so that it will push out a certain website as a home page for all users in the network.  I remember that I had to put the website name and ip address.

I have totally forgot where I went to do this.  I want to say its in hosting.

you can use a group policy to push out a default home page to everyone in the network - see this for instructions:  http://www.grouppolicy.biz/2010/02/how-to-use-group-policy-to-configure-home-page-settings-part-1/

OK, I will try this.  

Also, regarding the SharePoint.  Do you know how to make the SharePoint refresh automatically.  I am not an expert in SharePoint and we have a signout sheet that needs to be refreshed automatically like the old sharepoint site used too..
