I'm looking to resurrect an old app to use on Windows Phone 8, but so much has changed.<br />

I need the phone to talk to an occasionally connected database (actually a 'usually connected database', that might be without wifi for an hour or so per day)<br />

Previously I used local caching with the Sync Framework. &nbsp;Is the Sync Framework still in existence?<br />

Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) is a tool used to implement and deploy a service-oriented architecture (SOA) to support distributed computing where services have remote consumers.
