Say,  When recording a voice note it stops at 1min30.

There is no media card inserted could this be why? Any suggestions.

more than likely as the Bold devices only have 128 to 512Mb depending on the model, so very little recording time, due to all the data being stored in internal RAM.  9700 has 256Mb internal memory.

All Bold devices come with usually 512Mb or better microSD, so it should be using this for email attachments, camera photos and audio recordings.  Our 9700 units had 2Gb modules fitted as standard.  Looks like it was removed if the slot above the battery is empty.

Memory

Expandable memory—support for microSD card

BlackBerry Bold 9000: 128 MB onboard memory, 1 GB internal media memory
BlackBerry Bold 9650: 512 MB onboard memory, 2 GB media card included
BlackBerry Bold 9700: 256 MB onboard memory, 2 GB media card included
BlackBerry Bold 9780: 512 MB onboard memory, 2 GB media card included

Straight from the Bold spec sheet.

may be a setting on the app its self, launch it and then click the BB logo menu key and see if there is a recording time or restriction setting.  Could be just a daft default option when no memory card detected.

From what info i can find from BB, if you have no media card and limited onboard storage, you're restricted to 90sec recording.  With media card you can have up to 60mins, and then it will save the file and start another.

So basically fit a microSD card and under Options-->Device-->Storage make sure the Media Card enabled is ticked.  The app should pickup on it and use it.  Do the same with camera app options.
