Exchange:- Enterprise Vault Mimecast

Hi

Has any done one of these migrations?

what's involved, can you go directly or do you have to ingest back in to exchange or a PST?

I don't think there's a tool, you can unarchive everything back to the mailbox and then go to mimecast if you want mimecast to do the archiving.

If you have the space on the mail sever you can script this using EVPM just watch the log volume as it fill up quickly, we typically set Exchange for circular logging when we do this

you'll need to un-archive, otherwise you'll only migrate the stubs to Office365.  I would do a test on a few mailboxes, disable archiving afterwards and go from there.  If you're doing journaling that you may want to put into a PST file or a mailbox and put into a general mailbox for search capability, you're not going to get all the features for Discovery Accelerator  with Mimecast/Office 365
