Clone a live system - windows xp

Is there any software out there that will take and all me to make a backup image of a live system? I have a system down and i need to clone a working live system and make an image of it so i can then put it on a harddrive and send to the client.

I thought ghost would do it but i keep getting the good ol force volume lock.

Any software would help thanks! need to make image so i can ftp the image to the home office and burn to harddrive.

There are many other free tools for cloning the OS

Clonezilla
DriveImage XML
Todo Backup Free

You could also look at taking a virtual image of the live system using Disk2VHD

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/sysinternals/ee656415.aspx

You can then either dump that VHD back to the hard drive of a PC, OR you could run it as a virtual system.

Ok I'm making the vhd file now. Just curious how do i burn it to the harddrive here Or expand it if you will ?
