UPS 1.2 - Where did it come from?

I came across a copy of the Universal Print Server - version 1.2

Where did it come from?  I couldn't find any mention of it on Citrix.com.

Is there a location on the website where one can keep abreast of the latest happenings of a Citrix component, such as Citrix Universal Print Server?

Well the reason for this is that it is not a product produced for commercial purposes - it is just a product made to extend XenApp and XenDesktop support. That is why you will not find special mention or any marketing for it.

However there are a few pages explaining it:

Only answered half the question.

I am perfectly happy if you reopen the question and allow me to re-ask the second half of the question again.  Then, after the expert gives an answer to that question, I will be more than happy to give a 'A' grade.

I apologize - I did not mean to offend anyone.

@ Mutawadi,

The apologize if I offended by offering a less than appropriate grading.

I graded with perhaps a bit of pent up frustration from past experiences where I have asked questions and only received a partial answer.  I had followed up on previous questions (to other experts), requesting clarification, and the question would sit and sit until I got notice that it was being abandonned.  That's happened more than once, so I apologize for making a snap decision that it would be that way again.

The second part of my question dealt with finding a source of updated information from the Citrix pages regarding current information regarding Citrix components.

I was wondering if there is some page or dicussion area where Citrix Managers or Component experts post updates on components or products - how does one know the current scoop on UPS, where they are heading, current status of the project, etc.

Again, I am more than happy to change the grading if someone can show me how.

I do understand your frustration; but going back to all the questions you have asked that I participated in (in fact for other requestors also) you will notice that I have never left any question to be abandoned; well at least I would inform you that I can't help any more.

As for your other part of the question - UPS is part of the HDX technology which extends XenApp and XenDesktop environments. There is no special location or page where Citrix will keep posting updates about such components like HDX or UPS. However, you will get to know about such updates from time to time from your local Citrix partner, Citrix support, subscribing to Citrix newsletters, attending Citrix User Groups in your area, attending Citrix Synergy (hosted twice a year) and visiting the Citrix News page: https://www.citrix.com/news.html
For example, see the mention of UPS in this news article:

Hope this helps.
