Apple iMac 10.6.8 finder not responding
After booting if we try opening any folders we get the 'wheel of death'. No External disk connected.
Tried: -
Permissions repair
Safe boot then restart
Boot from DVD and repair disk
Can anyone help?

Type console into Spotlight
Open Console, then try to open a folder and watch for error messages to scroll by
There is a suggestion on the internet that booting into safe mode, opening and closing a few folders, then rebooting may solve the problem.
If not, try copying and pasting the following line into a terminal window and hit return
rm ~/.DS_Store
Then copy and paste this line into terminal and hit return
rm ~/Desktop/.DS_Store
If not, try copying and pasting the following line into a terminal window and hit return
rm ~/.DS_Store

rm ~/Desktop/.DS_Store

Thanks, creating new profile was the answer.

No errors on Disk Repair, will try other suggestions.
How do I check console logs?
