There is a suggestion on the internet that booting into safe mode, opening and closing a few folders, then rebooting may solve the problem.<br />

rm ~/.DS_Store<br />

Then copy and paste this line into terminal and hit return<br />
<br />
rm ~/Desktop/.DS_Store
