How can we get push notification from device to pc with asp.net c#

hi..
I want to create push notification service with asp.net c#. example, when we send any mail from outlook to gmail account see already opened gmail account, at that time it gives popup with their Primary tab, like "1 new". Exactly, I want to create this with my asp.net application for receiving notifications.

To do this you would need to first understand the nature of client/server protocols.

The effect you see in Gmail is not really a "push notification."  It just looks that way.  Instead it is the effect of jQuery running on the client browser.  As the jQuery timer event fires (every few seconds) Gmail makes an AJAX request to the Google server to see if there are any new messages.  The Google server responds with information that Gmail uses to update the client document.  This update is made to selected <div> and thus it does not have the appearance of a new page load, since it just updates part of the page.
