shockwave problems

my laptop is slow and I have a lot of problems with messages about shockwave crash.  Can they be related?  Do I need to uninstall Shockwave? Is there an alternative?

Shockwave works fine on Windows 7, so uninstalling it may stop it from crashing on your particular machine, but probably won't speed up your machine.

I suggest you look first for viruses. Run a thorough scan with your existing AV application. Then get malwarebytes (malwarebytes.org) and scan with it.
