thanks - adding the domain to the local intranet fixed the protected view. &nbsp;Im not sure why but some users recent links broke but not all as I have been checking with all. &nbsp;some users my docs just did not move properly but they are being fixed.

On Friday I redirected everyones home folder to the DFS point, as I saw they were just pointing to a single file server. &nbsp;My issues now are office wont open the files that pointed to \\server1\userdocuments\us<wbr />ername\doc<wbr />uments in the recent opened file page.<br />
It errors with unable to find the location, which it is a viable location if I type it in windows explorer. &nbsp;If I open a file from the DFS share now in the user's home drive or on the file servers it opens in protected view which I can fix with a GPO to remove the alert. &nbsp;<br />
The save location in office points to the DFS share of the users home drive which is good.<br />

So is there a reason the DFS location is opening in protected view and why wont the recent office links which point directly to the file server not open anymore?<br />
