CRM 2011 Cannot Import Solutions

Running CRM 2011 On-Premise, when attempting to import either managed or un-managed solutions, the screen just sits with no progress forever:
User generated image
Windows event viewer shows the following event:

CRMmanaged
   Not available
   0
   5.0.9690.2243
   w3wp
   Microsoft.Crm
InternalOperationPlugin: Could not find method 'ImportSolutionSkipCapable' on 'Microsoft.Crm.WebServices.ImportXmlService'.;Hash='1595594188'

Have Googled this error but everything I've found has dealt with CRM4.0 not 2011 and no real solution

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks

Which update rollup do you have installed?

ASKER

Rollup 8, for various reasons I cannot install any later roll-ups at this time.

However, I have imported solutions to this instance in teh past, the last one was just 2 weeks ago and no problems at all
Hmm.  I'm not sure that I have an answer for you. Things I would check:

Do you think installing UR8 caused the problem?
Has anything else changed?
Is everything working in IIS for the CRM web site?
Have you recently restarted the CRM server?
Can you check on a test system?
I don't think it's RU 8, we've had that installed for quire some time and it's worked just fine up to about 2 weeks ago

Nothing elkse changed to my knowledge
IIS is working fine for the CRM site
I just re-started the server anout an hour ago and it did not fix the problem :(

Our test system is working just fine, with RU8
Perhaps another update to the server via Windows update has caused the issue.

I think you may well have to contact Microsoft product support on this one.

Thanks for letting me know. If you don't mind posting, I'd be interested in the resolution.
Certainly, hopefully I will get one :)
