Outlook 2013 Calendar Sync with iPhone 5s issue

I'm trying to sync my Outlook 2013 Calendar with my iPhone 5s using iCloud. When I run the process I get an error saying: Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error.
I looked up this error and seems as though Apple is still looking into this issue since September of 2013. All I'm looking to do is the calendar only. Has anyone had any luck resolving this issue or have found a workaround or a 3rd party solution? I'm using iCloud control panel 3.1. PC is Windows 7 Pro 64bit.

I use CompanionLink to sync my calendar, contacts, notes and tasks from Outlook 2013 to my iPhone 4s. This works wirelessly, and not by iCloud, but it does work very well.
