Can't get Outlook 2007 to stop indexing. Have tried all fixes I've found to no avail but keep getting "Outlook is currently indexing your items - search results may be incomplete because items are still being indexed. 15150 items remaining".
What I've tried so far, based on hints & tips I've found:
1) Ran the re-index in Control panel Indexing Options (twice) and left for 4 days to see if it will settle down.
2) Unticked both my data files from the Search options, exited Outlook, left it idle for 30 minutes, re-launched Outlook & re-ticked the data files.
3) Unticked both data files from search options, exited Outlook, ran Restore Defaults in Control Panel Indexing Options, re-booted, waited 2 hours, launched Outlook & re-ticked data files in Search options.
4) As per (3) but without firstly unticking the data files on Search Options.
After all that, the symptoms remain unchanged: I launch Outlook and check Indexing Status: After 1 minute the items remaining goes to about 5000 then after 2 minutes it's at 10,000 then after 3 minutes it reaches 15,150 (which I guess is the amount of mails I have) and stays at that figure (well, it increases by 1 every time a new email arrives).
All the hits I see tell me that the figure should come down to zero, not go UP!!!
