HI,

I need to replace the system board for SUN X2270 server, is it just replacing the hardware or there is other configuration need to be done and what about the raid configuration from the old motherboard can it be transferred or it is saved on hard drives.

Thanks,

The replacement board will "learn" the config of the RAID.  No worries there, but make sure that the RAID isn't degraded and partially through a rebuild at the time ... if you can help it, of course.

Also the MAC address will be different.  This usually won't be a problem unless you have some software that is licensed to a MAC address (doubtful, but possible).

Obviously write down all BIOS settings while you have them, so it knows what HDD to boot first, as example.
