Exchange 2003 database size 500GB

Hello All,

I have a serious issue,

I have two node Exchange 2003 cluster with four storage group each hosting 4 mailbox store,

The database size for few store are above 500 GB,

We are facing huge performance issue in exchange,

Can any one guide me how should i proceed?

Hi,

Can you explain me in brief that what do you want to do. Is it just the performance issue or do you want to migrate from Exchange Server 2003 to a new server.

Hello john.
First i want to solve the performance issue. Our buget finilization is in progress n its vaction time so i want to keept it runing our next plan is to migrate it to exchange 2010. Can you help me to resolve performance issue.

Please could you explain a little bit more about the performance issue, that  what are parameters that you are taking into account to measure this performance.

Active sync. Outlook owa response slow. Delay in mail flow are few performance issue explain by end users.

Hi,

I believe that there might be some network issue, also please check that all the MS Exchange services are running properly.

Hey john,

I check all services and network connection, all seams to be ok, i doubt we have database corruption issue since its not been defrag long time, what do you suggest.

I have although ask my network team to re verify the network connection, exchange services i reconfirm all are working well

Hi,

I think that in this case you can try in a third party tool to repair in your exchange database as well as to perform the migration of the mailboxes from one exchange server to another. On the basis of my testing I can suggest you a few tools like Kroll's Ontrack, Lepide Exchange Recovery Manager which can perform such tasks easily. To know more about other tools you can ask the community forums.
