Shoretel on hold music quality

I'm trying to setup up on hold music for our Shoretel system. I'm able to setup the on hold music but the quality is very poor when calling from a cell phone. It works fine when calling from one of our Shoretel phones. I have tried playing the music via a uploaded file, ITunes, and other players. I get the same results from everything I have tried.

Any insight is much appreciated.

Hi I don't think there is much you can do about the quality with the cell phones. even in todays times it is still a problem.
According this Why does Music On Hold sometimes sound bad on my cell phone?<< read for more..

All cell phones use a “coding” process to cut the amount of information being transmitted to optimize the small weak signal being transmitted. Each cell site is handling hundreds and sometimes thousands of calls simultaneously over the same wireless channels. The calls are instantly being optimized by being passed between the towers receiving the best signal and least traffic. The “coding” process used to transmit cell phone calls is very, very complex and geared specifically to reproducing just human speech.
Recomendation:
Change from traditional hold music to customized business advertizing much like a radio ad.
I presume that would mean use a talking voice instead of music.
