Is it possible to create  a backup script on SQL 2008R2 such that it will backup a single table in the SQL2008R2 database and remove all its data to release the disk space ?

Is it possible for the backup to store on a network drive ?

You can not backup/restore single objects in SQL Server 2008, to my knowledge.  You can move the data into a seperate database that you create for such a purpose, such as:

SELECT * INTO new_backup_dbname.dbo.TABLENAME_BACKUP
FROM src_db_name.dbo.TABLENAME

and then TRUNCATE TABLE src_db_name.dbo.TABLENAME

You could then have a  SQL Backup job scheduled to backup the new_backup_dbname database
