I am in the process of retooling myself, I've learned the fundamentals of C# and have been playing with Ruby. If I want to do programming on the side what should I learn, what is the market for ruby. &nbsp;I've been doing web data driven business applications with ASP.NET since &nbsp;version 1.1 for big to mid size companies &nbsp;and now am working on 4.0 &nbsp;going to 4.5. I have limited time so I need to find out where to focus, do I need HTML5 and JavaScript to do web development with Ruby on rails?, how about with .NET MVC?.<br />

Can you give me suggestions on what will be the fastest way to become proficient, using pluralsight find my mind wondering away. I showed it to a peer and the comment was &quot;It took that guy one minute to explain something I can read in few seconds&quot;.

C# vs Ruby

An application server is a software framework that provides both facilities to create applications and a server environment to run them. Web applications are systems that run in browsers that perform functions normally associated with other client-based programs. One of the most commonly used web applications is email; instead of downloading individual emails to a local machine, the data is shown through a website. Other examples of web applications are collaborative systems like a wiki or an online game.
