Embedding calendar in my website

I want to have a calendar in my website. When someone clicks on a day I want it to just show what that day has to offer. I know google calendar has an embed html option but you cannot click what is going on that day nor can you really customize it nor does it stay up to date. Is there any program out there that I can manage a calendar system and then embed it into my website? Thanks
