Would like a lean and mean compact desktop computer

I Produce music and will be doing some video editing.
I'm looking for a very powerful desktop as compact as possible. My only caveat is that I'd need 2 pci-e slots and a fire wire slot.
I do not like Dell or HP.
I figure I'll be piecing the system together.  But I want compact.  If it weren't for the pci issue, I suppose I could just get a laptop.

Any suggestions?

Lenovo make a Small Form Factor machine.  Look at their Workstations, "E" series, Small Form Factor (much smaller than Tower). These are compact but any compact machine has limited slots. Pick a model, pretend to buy, and go to configure to see if it offers what you need.

Lenovo also makes a Tiny Form Factor (about as thick as a golf ball). This is much more limited in terms of slots and probably will not fill your need.

I have a Small Form Factor at a client, and for my purposes (business) they work well.
