Hi guys,

We're purchasing lots of QNAP storage devices, usually the following models:
TS-879U-RP
TS-EC879U-RP

We're looking to get familiar with the same price range (1000-2000$) for our basic needs:
iSCSI connection for video (CCTV) recordings
NAS

Your recommendations will be more than welcome.

We use Synology RS2212, a little cheaper than Qnap, but same peformance.

When using Qnap or Synology, take care when selecting your disks, and check with manufacture first.

Thanks.
1. Any more alternatives you can think of?
2. As for the disks, i guess you mean to check that they're supported on the selected device, right?

At that price point Synology with the features you require.

Yes check manufacturers web sites they have lists of compatible hard drives.

With the ATEN CE624, you can now enjoy a high-quality visual experience powered by HDBaseT technology and the convenience of a single Cat6 cable to transmit uncompressed video with zero latency and multi-streaming for dual-view applications where remote access is required.

I forgot to mention that we need a reseller + support in Israel, and Synology does not seems to have it in our region.
What about IOMega or similar devices?

We do not use iomega any more because of support and performance issues although their parent company is or was EMC.

If supply is an issue I would stick with Qnap.
