Is Firewall necessary in Branch offices?

Hi all,

I have a branch office, where I am using Broadband connection for internet. Do I need to put firewall there? I have a spare cyberoam CR250i hardware , my manager is saying to configure this in branch office for better management. I have only 10 users working there. They use VPN client to communicate to our network.

Please suggest

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

it is always good practice to have some sort of firewall when accessing the internet from anywhere, a branch office should have some sort of firewall, the branch office would become the weak link in your network design, because any hacker or unwanted guest can access your corporate network through the VPN links created by the users.

a basic firewall is better then not having a firewall.
