Powerware 9125 UPS

I have an Eaton Powerware 9125 UPS connect via the serial port. I have Lansafe running and it is running fine. I am attempting to update to Intelligent Power Manager and cannot get it to see the UPS. We contacted Eaton support a while back and they said they he it working fine in their test environment. Since then we have replaced the serial card in the UPS encase it was faulty but still cannot get it to connect.

Does anyone have Intelligent Power manager working via serial to any Powerware model or have any other suggestions?

Thanks

The specs on that software require a web enabled management port and, for the 9125 it is eaton 116750221-001: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4270125&SRCCODE=WEBGOOPA&cm_mmc_o=mH4CjC7BBTkwCjCV1-CjCE&gclid=CMDTx7fF1rsCFag7Ogodg20A5g

But; if you have not replaced the batteries in that 7 year old UPS, you'd be smarter to buy a new UPS.

Thanks for your reply. It also supports some rs232/usb attached models, the PW9125 being one of them. Since posting the question I have installed again and got it reporting on the UPS. However still cannot configure the 'Power Source Configuration' and it will not send out notifications of power failures etc however the all ports are open and the test emails also work.

I don't really want to go to the expense of buying another UPS as the batteries are fine and I am kind of hesitant to buy a new web enabled port when it appears that it’s the software which rubbish.

Still hoping someone has Intelligent Power manager working via serial to any Powerware model and can share their experiences or have any other suggestions?

Thanks

Have you installed IPM on the other servers you want to receive notification?
The manual refers to a host and remotes.

Yeah, done that. My understanding is that you install IPM on the monitor server that the ups is plugged into and then install IPP on the other servers.

Last night I uninstalled everything reboot and set it up from scratch again. Guess what cant see the UPS again. This software is rubbish! I am going to leave the question open for a week it see if someone responds that has it running via serial and have a look around for a cheap x-slot management card.

Thanks your help.
