Modify webconf file in order to modify deniedaccess page: it is not working

Hi there,

I modify the web.conf of sharepoint website in order to take a new page

I remplaced

<customErrors mode="On" />

By

<customErrors mode="On">
      <error statusCode="401"
             redirect="AccessDenied.html"/>
</customErrors>

I had AccessDenied.html in the current folder

But, I have always the default Access denied pag

Please help me

Hi,
which SharePoint version / edition?

The access denied page in SharePoint is handled differently than in a "normal" ASP.NET web application.

You can set a custom access denied page using Powershell. This blog article explains how to create a custom access denied page as well as the Powershell script to set it:
