column sort in excell

I have a column of numbers in excell

These numbers have negative numbers (less than zero) scattered through out the list.

is there a command that will give me the number of negative numbers in the column list ?

Put this in any cell:

=COUNTIF(A1:A10,"<"&0)

Of course, instead of A1 put in the first cell of your column of numbers and instead of A10 put in the last cell of your column of numbers. Regards, Joe
