Stubborn MySQL Table

Say,

I have a MySQL database & no matter how hard i try to remove this table - it just wont delete. It is only 4.4kB in size. How can i solve this problem??...Any method please.

Can you kindly tell me how can I distinguish which version of MySQL we are running - I believe its ver 5.5 but not sure.

What version is simply running   mysql   command.
Or run a query like:       SHOW VARIABLES LIKE "%version%";

About this database, what are you trying and what is the output?

Tx: This is result: innodb_version 5.5.33

version 5.5.33-0+wheezy1

I've several tables and the engine is MYIsam. They all can be opened fine except for 1 table. I can see table structure but if I try view data or drop the table the interface (Heidi MySQL) hangs.

Is the MyIsam engine an issue as it seems this db uses innodb... ?

Diiference between the two a quiet big actualy. Have a look at a drawing here.

Innodb is nowadays the engine to choose but myisam engine is used by PhpMyAdmin.

How to convert myisam to innodb is described in this link. It drums down to ' ALTER TABLE tablename ENGINE = INNODB; '

Cheers
