You need to try to rebuild the file which is a Utility function in QuickBooks.

First, make a backup of the .QBW file for safe keeping.

Next, copy the .QBW file to a local machine if not already on that local machine.

Now open QuickBooks without a file.  Open cmd.exe, navigate to the program folder where QuickBooks is. In the command windows type QBW32.exe /nofile and see if QuickBooks opens without a file.

Assuming so, you can close the command window use the big Open Company button and navigate to the local file, and try to open it.

If it opens, do not try to use it. Instead, go to File Utilities, and Rebuild the file. See if it rebuilds.

Now, to QB 2007:  This is ancient and out of support. It will not run properly on a 64-bit system and so in most cases nothing later than Windows XP which is also dead.

If you cannot get the ledger open or rebuilt, then you will have to contact Intuit Support. They have a paid recovery system, but they will upgrade to a newer version of QuickBooks.

Rebuilding the file is related to the Company ledger.

Another thing to try is related to the QuickBooks installation.

Again, open cmd.exe, navigate to the QB Program Folder. Make sure QuickBooks is closed. In the command window, type Reboot.bat and enter. Allow to complete. Restart the computer and test QB again.
