Crystal Reports XI duplicate rows
My manager has created a report and I created a report. I am now attempting to simply go into his report and link the tables so I can use my data on his report.
I added the view and linked it with a left Outer join since The info it is being compared to is in the from table.
I then take a field from my added view and create a max formula to find the last date an item was picked from inventory and when I add it to the report it duplicates rows but prior to me adding in the other view it did not.... Do I need to use a summary report or is there a detail I am missing?

I have moved the info into a Group, grouped by item number... and tried to use the MAXdate formula to find the last date picked and it only gives me one date throughout all the items...

it is giving me just the max date not the max date based on the item #

To prevent this you will need filter the data so that only the records with the "MAX" dates are selected for the report.
You can do this by grouping on the item then displaying the information in the group header or footer.
