How do I copy wallpapers from my computer to the Moto X

If you mean create a directory in my device from within the Moto X, I don't know how.  I did create a Wallpapers folder using explorer, and copied wallpapers to it, but when I long hold down the main screen to choose a wallpaper, they are not there.  

where are the default wallpapers stored that come with the phone?

I believe they are compiled within the code, to make a customs one you need a storage device on where you create the folder.
