Picasa MPG no sound

I have a .MPG video file. When I run it in Windows Media Player, it has sound. When I run it in Picasa, I lose the sound. I'm pretty sure the solution would have something to do with codecs. If downloading codecs is the solution, I need to know exactly what to download (the last time I tried on my own, a lot of garbage came along with the codecs).

My system: Windows Vista Service Pack 2. My apple Quicktime and Picasa is the latest out there.

I am attaching the MPG file. However, I had to change the extension to get it to upload.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

To give you a little more and explain why it doesnt have sound,
Gspot reports it is a DVD vob renamed extension to mpg and is using tjhe ac3 as suggested above in the forums.
MyNewTesthttp://www.videohelp.com/tools/GSpot
Keep Gspot for the future and test your video on it
Once you drop a problem video on go down to proposed codecs and solutions, click on VID 1 then Vid 2 and Vid 3 then you can actually play it in Gspot
Gspot Vid 1So I tested it in my Picasa 3  on my new windows 7 x64 and also did not have sound so took it over here to my other windows 7 x32  which has the k-lite codec pack installed which includes the ac3 and the sound works
no soundSo you can choose between the two suggestions
Download K-Lite Codec Pack on this page,
http://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm
it has a selection of the packs I'd suggest  the mega for your Vista SP2
Contents of the mega
http://codecguide.com/features_mega.htm
Choose either of the start download or download eitherway they lead to you choose your windows
Select VistaCheers
