Rest local Admin password on Windows 2012 Server - virtual

I have a new Windows 2012 Server(VM Guest) that is not taking the local Admin password I thought I assigned to the local Administrator.  I have removed the server from our domain, so there is no option to login as any other user.....Is there a way to change the local Admin password using a tool or from the install disc?  I tried booting to the install disc, going into "Repair My Computer">"Command Prompt", but again, it asks for the Administrator password!  Help....!  Thanks in advance.

Very clean and easy to follow steps. It worked plenty of times for me so far.
