I am looking for a tutorial that describes how to build a simple mobile device app.

XAML is the language used.

The tutorials are long and complex.

I just need something basic for starters.

This is exactly what I was looking for.

Thanks,

I am considering 3 books:

Windows 8 Apps with XAML and C# Unleashed [Paperback]
Adam Nathan

Windows Phone 8 Development Internals Paperback

by Andrew Whitechapel

Programming Windows: Writing Windows 8 Apps With C# and XAML [Paperback]
Charles Petzold

Windows Phone 8 Unleashed [Paperback]  - Daniel Vaughan

Essential Windows Phone 8 (2nd Edition) (Microsoft Windows Development Series)
-Shawn Wildermuth

Which do you recommend?

What does it mean to be "Always On"?

Is your cloud always on? With an Always On cloud you won't have to worry about downtime for maintenance or software application code updates, ensuring that your bottom line isn't affected.

Cheers!

To answer your question about the books, its hard to say without knowing your end goal. Is all of this for fun or for work? Evaluate each book and see who it's geared to, read the opening chapter of each if thats an option, and see which book fits you and your goals best
