Citrix Receiver 14.1 - HKLM...\RUN Entries

I have Citrix Receiver installed on my Windows 7 laptop and I noticed the following programs are in the HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run:

CitrixReceiver = "C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Citrix\Receiver Updater.lnk"

Redirector = "C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\ICA Client\redirector.exe" /startup

Why do they both do, and are they really needed to be run at boot up and continually running on the laptop in the background?  Any suggestions or thoughts?

Receiver Updater is a plugin within the Receiver used to talk to a Merchandizing Server (a Citrix appliance) for downloading and automatically updating Citrix Receiver plugins on your client PCs.

Redirector is a component of the Citrix Receiver, which if enabled, will allow for redirecting certain URLs in your Citrix session to open from your Local computer/device, instead of opening from within the Citrix session. This is also true for File type associations. For more info see:

Not running at boot up shouldn't affect your Citrix experience, except that if your admin have set up some blacklist URLs or FTAs, you will not be able to have them redirected; and if your admin requires the Merchandizing server to update the plugins (if the updater is not running) this will not work.
