I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

How do you try to logon? Through the SQL Server management Studio?
If so, do you connect with    servername\databasename

Then how are you authenticating? Windows/SQL or mixed mode?

If connecting from remote, did you enable TCP/IP and configure the open port 1433 and allow remote connections?
