Step-by-step guide for installing WDS on Server 2012

Hi

I have  upgraded all my management servers to windows 2012. I am planning to install WDS on one of the servers. I have never installed  WDS and don't have any experience using WDS.
I have used Symantec Altiris in the past .

Please post me a step-by-step guide for installing WDS on Server 2012 and I couldn't find a guide for 2012. We have 400 XP PCs and I will  have to migrate my workstations from XP to Windows 7.

Or Please suggest implementing any other deployment software.

Thanks

Thanks

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi Mahesh

I have not worked on MDS. Will be able to capture the  image of  Windows 7 PC  from the MDT server and redeploy this image to a group of computers in one go.

Thanks

Yes, you can capture image from win 7 machine in MDT as well.

I used MDT previously , it has task sequences you can define which give you more control on Win7 deployments
In typical MDT deployments you can boot new computer with MDT CD (PE) and from there you need to select appropriate options
Since you want to upgrade XP to 7, you can run MDT scripts from network share to start upgrade process
You can install \ upgrade Win7 on multiple computers if wanted to one by one.
I don't think \ aware about upgrading multiple computers in particular group in AD in one shot just like you can do with SCCM.
