I am trying to Verify a site on Google so that I can upload a sitemap.

I select Verify This site.
Option 3 is
Confirm successful upload by visiting
http://www.mydomain.com/google593e33820919412d.html in your browser

This link succeeds and the file opens.

However if I click Verify I get the message
We weren't able to verify your site http://etc

Can anyone see where I may be going wrong please?
Thank yo
john

Did you upload the html file?  Dumb question but can you surf to http://www.mydomain.com/google593e33820919412d.html?  If you can't then you have not uploaded the file.

If you can, is that file google told you to upload?

This should be pretty straight forward.
