Ghetto script no email alerts from Esxi 4.0.0 host

Hello,

I am not receiving email alerts from  2 x Esxi 4.0.0 hosts I have copied the ghetto script from a working Esxi 4,1,0 host .

It doesnt seem to be firewall as there is no log output so it doesn't even try to contact Mail server.  Maybe an older version of ghetto script is needed that works on 4.0?
