sVMotion Failing
I am attempting to sVMotion a vm that is failing to move from the source to the designation datastore. I tried the following procedure:
I have seen writing to a NFS server cause timeouts. Try increasing the 'fsr.maxSwitchoverSeconds' parameter by editing the vmx file manually, or by using VI under Edit Settings, Options Configuration Parameters.
i think if i could power the VM off, it would migrate
but its a customer VM
think it is timing out to to the swap space being used
which, a reboot would solve
there was a 300 MB memory limit on the VM, configured for 8 GB
using 1.31 GB of swap
ANy recommendation on how to proceed?

I agree. There are possible performance issues with the NFS server. What are my alternatives? Can I use Veeam as a solution? What direction should I pursue? Is there a KB to reference?

Excellent feedback Hancock. Points well deserved. Thank you.

Excellent feedback.
No problems.
Storage vMotion, Snapshots the VM, moves the parent file, and then later moves the snapshot, and Merges to parent disk.
NFS server, could have performance issues.
