creating a new service instance

Hi,

  I am referring to the example below to create a new web service.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308359

In the section,
4.Create an instance of the proxy object that was created. Place the following code in the function called Main:
localhost.Service1 myMathService = new localhost.Service1();

I do not understand why the type of myMathService is Service"1" and not Service?
Why is this numbered?

Thanks

In the step 4
localhost.Service1 myMathService = new localhost.Service1();

myMathService is an instance of the proxy object localhost.Service1.

Note myMathService is not a type here, it's just instance variable.

Where was the "proxy object" Service1 defined as such. There is no reference to it in this article and any mention of its name as Sevice1.

Please note I am not confused between type and variable instantiation.
