Each CD Player is unique.  Most CD players made in the past 5-6 years can play .MP3 and .WAV files.

I suggest .MP3 files as they are smaller.  You can adjust the bit rate down to make the file size smaller.  As a data disc, the CD can hold 700 MBs.  DVDs contain more, but fewer players can play DVD data discs.  I hope this helps.

If your in-car CD Player will not play a disc containing MP3 files or WMA (Windows Media Audio) files, then it will not play any other audio file types.  Those are the ones which manufacturers chose as the most popular and I don't think this will ever change.

Some have a small auxilliary jack socket on the front that you can connect an external MP3 player to.

Whay do you need more than 80 minutes of playback time on a distributable Audio CD?
