MySQL replication

can we only replicate one instance of MySQL content to another instance? totally or partially ?

I have never actually implemented replication with mysql.
However I have read on mysql tech pages that it supports multi master replication.
And you can do it for a single table if needed.

that's the latests version, it was available before.
see "earlier versions" in the menu of that page
it's available since 5.0, and even before with limited features.
