Have you perhaps tried installing the support files again manually from the SQLPrepInstaller_x64 folder right clicked and run as administrator ?<br />
<br />
Also the account your using to install DPM, does it have admin permissions and have you maybe tried running the install with elevated permissions ?<br />

yes I have tried to install support files manually, it did not change anything.<br />
The user I am using for installation is a domain admin and I have tried using elevated permissions, but no changes.

I have installed DPM and I can backup db from the SQL sever where the Sharepoint db are located, but I can not create a Sharepoint backup of the farm.<br />
As fara I can see the DPM is working fine.<br />

&nbsp;I am installing DPM 2012 r2 on Windows 2012 r2 server and SQL 2008 r2 server,This is a clean install and there have no previous versions of DPM been &nbsp;installed in my forest.<br />

I get this error<br />

Microsoft System Center DPM Support Files are not installed on the SQL Server.Install SQL Prep from setup.exe located on the installation DVD or installation share, and try again.<br />
